Mission

  • Focus on delinquency prevention in schools, the juvenile justice system, and programs that give kids a second chance after a misdemeanor or low-level felony.

  • Study issues across the social policy spectrum that are related to delinquency.
  • Support programs that promote kids’ basic needs including their safety and mental health, and concurrently promote fairness, diversity, equity and inclusion 

Program Plans 2025-2026

  1. Continue to advocate for increased usage of Civil Citation via “Civil Citation: Saving Kids’ Futures” presentation to community groups, LWVCC interactive webpage (click here), media, and other information. 

  2. Increase awareness of Collier CARES a free app that provides a listing of resources and services of all kinds, in one place, for vulnerable families and kids who need access to help. For more information : Collier CARES

  3. Study school truancy which is the #1 predictor of not doing well in school.  Can truancy rate be reduced?
