If you live in Collier County, you know that there is a terrible shortage of Affordable/Workforce Housing, made even worse by Hurricane Ian. The current crisis is a result of years of inaction and poor planning. If there is anything that most people can agree on, it’s that we have a problem. People who work in Collier County can’t afford to live here. This includes everyone from the people who serve you in restaurants to essential personnel upon whom we depend for our health, safety and the education of our children. There has been much wringing of hands over this delima but too little done because of a lack of willingness to take the actions needed to facilitate change.

Daniel Lavender has served as chief executive officer of Moorings Park Institute Inc. in Naples, Florida, since 2009. As a member of the Naples community, Moorings Park also supports dozens of community health initiatives by distributing grants to local non-profit and public health agencies.

Nick Casalinguida held various positions in the Collier County Government and became the COO and the Deputy County Manager in 2015. With over 30 years of business management, land development, local government, and construction experience, Nick moved back to the private sector in 2021 accepting a position with Barron Collier Companies on the executive team. He has extensive experience with complex projects. .
