Juvenile Justice Committee Meeting
Girls' Experiences through Racial/Ethnic Lenses
Vanessa Patino Lydia, Ph.D.,Vice President of Research and Planning at the Delores Barr Weaver Policy Center in Jacksonville, Florida, will be the Juvenile Justice Committee's April guest speaker. She will highlight findings from the Center's recent studies concerning girls' experiences with education and juvenile justice from a racial/ethnic perspective, and its recommendations. With over 20 years experience in working towards juvenile justice system reform, Dr. Patino Lydia oversees research initiatives to inform better policies, programs and services directly linked to girls’ experiences. The mission of the Delores Barr Weaver Policy Center is to "engage communities, organizations and individuals through research, advocacy, training and model programming to advance the rights of girls, young women and youth who identify as female, especially those impacted by the justice system.” All members are welcome
