HELPING COLLIER COUNTY SENIORS TO CONNECT
(With one another and with community resources)

Tatiana Fortune, MSW, comes to us as the Director of the Golden Gate Senior Center,
the second of our two Centers in Collier County. In her role, she oversees the Center’s
operations and activities, program development, community partnerships, outreach, and
personnel supervision. Tatiana speaks Haitian Creole, has a Bachelor of Social Work
from Southeastern University and a Master of Social Work with a concentration in Social
and Economic Development from Washington University in St. Louis.

In addition to sharing with us the unique characteristics of the Golden Gate Senior
Center and its members, Tatiana will tell us about her involvement with Collier Senior
Resources, a successful 501c3 agency that helps seniors, their caregivers, and family
members who are at a distance from their elderly loved ones. According to the
Community Foundation’s “Vital Signs”, Individuals who are 65 years old or older make
up the largest portion of our population in Collier at 31.5% (and growing) or 117,457
residents; and between 6,000 and 9,000 of those are living below the poverty level.
