In May of 2017 the University of Florida and Florida Gulf Coast University were awarded a three-year nearly $1million grant from the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration to develop tools and strategies to help Collier County’s business and government leaders plan for the impact of sea level rise.

To fulfill the grant’s community engagement commitment, the League of Women Voters of Collier County (LWVCC) conducted confidential and private interviews with business and community leaders.    League Members Judy Hushon and Sally Woliver led a team of 10 volunteers who conducted the interview and focus sessions in 2019.
