Who is eligible to join?

Membership is open to any person who subscribes to the purposes and policy of the League of Women Voters of the United States.

U.S. citizens at least 18 years of age who join the League are voting members. All other members are Associate Members.

Why should I join?
  • Be a leader - People need to know about the controversial issues of the day and about how government works. As a League member you'll be part of the process.

  • Make a difference on things that count - From growth management policy to campaign finance reform, you will be informed and involved when the League takes a stand.

  • Change where you live for the better - Important decisions affecting the water you drink and the roads you drive are made every day. The League injects the citizens' perspective in local problem solving.

  • Hone your skills - Take on public speaking, communications, and management challenges as you interact with officials in the community.

  • Have fun - The League offers a range of experiences, from voter registration to lobbying. Whatever level of involvement you choose, you’ll enjoy the vital role you play in the League.

What do I get?

In addition to membership in our local Collier County league, you automatically become a member of the LWV Florida and LWV of the United States.

You will receive their publications along with our own newsletter the VOTER, usually published monthly from October through April.

And you will have the knowledge that you are adding your voice to a powerful force of members from all 50 states, Washington DC, the Virgin Islands, and Hong Kong.
