We encourage visitors to our website to contact us with their questions. Here are some of the more frequently asked questions:

Membership

Do I have to live in Collier County to join the League of Women Voters of Collier County?

No, we welcome members from all over. In fact, a few of our members live in Lee County but spend more of their time in Collier and are more interested in LWVCC programs. See Join Us for membership requirements in our League.

Are men eligible to join the League?

Absolutely! There are no barriers to participation in any League activity on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin or disability. We have a number of male members, and are actively recruiting to increase the diversity of our league.

Meetings

Are non-members of LWVCC welcome at your meetings?

Yes, our meetings are open to the public. But after attending one or two meetings, we certainly hope you will decide to become a member. For more information, see Why Should I Join?

Partisanship & Politics

Is the League affiliated with any political party?

No. In fact, the League prides itself on its nonpartisanship policy. We neither support nor oppose candidates for office.

But doesn’t the League of Women Voters take positions on issues?

Yes! Even though we are nonpartisan, we are a political organization and we do take positions on issues. See Impact on Issues for the National League’s guide to its public policy positions.
